Cyclone Lusi

It's the end of a bit of a miserable weekend weather wise. The much hyped Cyclone Lusi ended up being barely a storm in this neck of the woods but certainly the wettest weekend we've had so far this year.

Which posed a bit of a challenge in entertaining the two monkeys who spend a large proportion of their time outdoors (mainly chasing cicadas in recent weeks). It didn't help that I was in a bit of a funk on Saturday - I'm really, really not a bad weather person so maybe it was the rain bringing me down. Thank goodness for husbands great at distraction allowing me a good break, a hot bath and time to finish my book.

I need to take a leaf from the children's book, they don't care one jot about the weather - life is all a big opportunity for enjoyment, discovery and fun. Will try to remember that to get me through winter!

Okay, so Autumn is kinda beautiful. And there's feijoas. Plus a tree didn't fall on our house.

So there was Lego, coloring, visits from the kids next door, puddle stomping, baking, slot car racing, pizza picnics on the lounge floor, playing in a box, movie night and lounge sleep outs. And that was just Saturday!

Literally HOURS of fun with this empty box.

Looking forward to the weather clearing a little in the next few days and our girl starting a few full days at kindy. So silly, but it feels like such a big step - I will be a basket case when she starts school in 5 months!
